Two People Using Counterfeit Bills Targeting Area

Davenport Police are looking for two people suspected of passing a $100 counterfeit bill.

The two suspects first tried it on July 16th but they were confronted by an employee. They didn't give much information and left in an older black Saturn Relay with an Illinois tag.

It didn't stop there. Police say they have targeted at least seven businesses along I-74 and more along the I-80 corridor. They are buying items of low value so they can get real change in return. Some of the bills are apparently passing the marker test.

If you have information about these two, police ask you call Crime Stoppers at 309-762-9500.
